Can you exploit marketers with marketing tricks?

Interesting question.

But I won't give you a yes or no answer.

Instead:

I will tell you a real story (and as thou reads this story, thou shall get thy answers).

Here’s the story:

A few dawns ago, I was browsing a paid program on the internet. It was a private community of famous twitter guys. But I won't expose his name (for not-so-obvious reasons). However, as I was going through his sales page… I felt this strong urge to pull out my wallet and offer him some cash so I could join his private community.

But you know what?

The funny thing is:

My eyes could see all the copywriting tricks and techniques (and whatnot) he was spinning on his sales page… to give me this feeling of…

I wanna have it

I wanna have it

I wanna have it.

For example, his sales page had a:

1) Detailed headline
2) Strong bullet copy
3) Urgent call to action
4) God damn juicy offer
5) And many other little things

But guess what?

Even if I was totally aware of these things.

They were still working on me.

Why?

Because that copy was written for my emotional brain (or "chimp brain" so to speak). And all great copy do the same.

They write to appeal to the chimp part of your little brain.

Hope, I answered your question.
