Copywriter gets schooled by 14yo nephew.

It bugs me.

As you know, I'm fresh on twitter (less than a month), so from day to night I constantly think about:

How can I grow fast?

How can I reach 10000 followers?

How can I build a BIG audience like Alex Hormozi?

and so on…

===

This is why, I’m struggling to concentrate on my normal life too.

For example:

Nowadays, when I have conversations with my friends. I am way less in the conversation and more in my own head - thinking about followers, replies, and twitter…

All the time.

Clearly, I have lost touch with the present moment.

It happened yesterday as well. My nephew was sitting beside me, and we were talking about boxing. He then mentioned how his hands are so lazy (and slow) when he throws a punch.

"Of course, your hands are slow. You haven't joined a gym yet. But, once you do, and start training consistently. Not only your hand speed, but your punching power, reflex, and your footwork will be faster". I replied.

As I said this, I had an epiphany. My mind started comparing boxing with twitter.

===

Context:

My reflexes, jab, and footwork have improved so much that I often get praised by other professional fighters in our gym. But, you know what? It wasn't the same from the start. In fact, for the first two months, my body was super stiff (and slow). I even struggled to throw a straight jab. My fighting stance was awkward. I could barely throw punches at my training partners, and sparing days were like hell.

But, everything transformed after 9 months of consistent grind.

Twitter is EXACTLY the same.

You don't know what to post. You've no new ideas to talk about. Your likes and followers don’t increase as you expected. And, you may even lose hope, and plan to quit.

It is uncomfortable, at first.

But when YOU decide to show up every day, stay persistent. And, most importantly, be patient. Because like boxing, it takes a few months to understand the art of twitter too.

And, sooner when months pass, you will see...

Your follower numbers going up. You'll hear notifications of new likes and comments. And your tweets start getting shared in and around twitter.

But, it only happens when you don't quit.

That’s all for today,

But before I leave, a few woke words on notifications:
