Be unforgettable (like your ex), in your readers mind

Last week, I was sitting in my bed and scrolling twitter.

And a random post got me in stitches. I clicked on it to see this guy’s profile. He was a marketer. And, as I was going through his profile I found many more hilarious tweets.

I spent almost 15 minutes scrolling his account.

It was fun.

Again, it happened yesterday too, another random tweet got me in stitches.

I clicked the profile and found out this guy was a copywriter (like me). And as I was reading through his tweets - my mind was constantly thinking of the marketing guy.

And guess what?

As I went deep, reading and enjoying his tweets. I realized he was the same marketing guy. Yes, the marketer with a new profile and bio of a copywriter.

Why am I sharing this with you today?

The reason I'm sharing is because there's a HUGE lesson in this story (that you may have missed).

Here it is:

"They will forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel."

Now this lesson holds its ground in real life, on twitter, and in your emails too. Because (just like tweets) your readers are constantly bombarded with new emails every single day. They read and they forget about you.

That's why the normal strategy of giving loads and loads of content to your readers rarely works. Everyone’s doing that, there’s nothing new.

It’s not exciting anymore.

Now, before you misinterpret me. I don't mean stop sending relevant content to your readers, and become a clown altogether. You must give valuable content (it’s a non-negotiable).

But in a way that makes them feel different emotions.

In a way that makes you unforgettable in their minds so they remember you even after many days and weeks.

Just like this marketing dude.

He used a combination of content and emotions/personality in his tweets. That’s why his tweets stuck in my brain. And, that is also why I was able to spot his new tweets even from his new profile.

By the way, this approach is something that I do in my own emails as well. And, if you want to send such unforgettable emails that stick in your readers' minds like glue...
